The Vision of Holy Trinity Youth Ministry
The Purpose of Youth Ministry at Holy Trinity is to create an environment that leads high school teenagers into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ and His Church.
This mission is accomplished in three basic ways:
- Through the teachings of the Church.
- Through Sacramental encounters with Christ through the Eucharist and Confession.
- Through an experience of a loving and accepting Christian community.
How will we seek to accomplish this?
Our goal is to reach teens on spiritual, emotional and social levels; we will respond to their need to be loved and accepted in a day and age where many young people experience a sense of hopelessness about their future and lack meaning and direction for their lives. To provide this direction, we will encourage teens to embark on a journey of faith and relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
What will make it work?
All successful youth ministry programs around the country have common threads – high parental involvement, teen leadership, loving community, fun environment and transformative experiences of faith. We will need your support throughout this process. Remember, every little bit helps! What's different about this youth ministry program?
Community will be vital to the success of our Youth Ministry program as teens receive education, support and guidance in the environment of community; a community of peers, church leaders, parents and volunteers. When teens come to know that they are loved, they can be empowered by the Holy Spirit to lead fruitful lives in service of God and others and witness to the love they've received.
What will happen at the Youth Group?
The Sunday night programs are dynamic, engaging and spiritual -- helping every teen, no matter where they are at in their faith, to deepen their love for Christ. Meetings are open to both Catholic and non-Catholic teens. The meetings are creative, fast-flowing and are designed to engage the teens in a fun and exciting way so that they will be talking to their friends about the good experience they had. All the meetings are based on the teachings of the Catholic Church, in unity with our Holy Father, and based in a particular way on the teachings in the Catechism of the Catholic Church and Sacred Scripture.
