As Mary returned after caring for Elizabeth for three months, what must have been her peace though she was now three months pregnant?!
What was her joyful tranquility as she and Joseph approached Bethlehem though having no place to give birth?!
Can we say the same of the devoted Protector of the Holy Family? What were the thoughts and emotions of the holiest of men as he sought a worthy place for Mary to give Birth to the Messiah?! He is the holiest of men. Yet, I wonder if Mary needed to re-assure him at times.
What an example for us who often find ourselves troubled, agitated and worried about responsibilities and activities in our world! How the devil tries to worm his way into our souls through sadness, discouragement, agitation, worry
As a related thought, if you have never read Fr. Jacques Philippe, it would be worth your while this Advent/New Year! His writings are based upon the saints, particularly St. Francis de Sales. They are applicable to any and every person striving for perfection in the midst of a busy, troubled, agitated and confused world.

Así como María regresó de cuidar a Isabel durante tres meses, ¡¿cuánta debe haber sido su paz ahora que ella tenía tres meses de embarazo?!
¡¿Cuanta era su tranquilidad feliz mientras que ella y José se aproximaban a Belén a pesar de no tener un lugar para que ella diera a luz?!
¿Podemos decir lo mismo del devoto Protector de la Sagrada Familia? ¡¿Cuáles eran los pensamientos y emociones del más santo de los hombres mientras buscaba un lugar digno para que María diera a luz al Mesías?! Él es el más santo de los hombres. Sin embargo, me pregunto si María necesitaba asegurárselo todo el tiempo.
¡Qué ejemplo para nosotros los que a menudo nos encontramos turbados, agitados y preocupados por las responsabilidades y actividades en nuestro mundo! ¡Cuánto trata el diablo de meterse en nuestras almas a través de la tristeza, desanimo, agitación y preocupación!
Un pensamiento en relación a lo anterior, si ustedes nunca han leído nada del Padre Jacques Philippe, valdría la pena que lo hicieran durante este Adviento/Nuevo Año! Sus escritos están basados en santos, particularmente San Francisco de Sales. Son aplicables a cualquiera y a cada persona luchando por alcanzar la perfección en medio de un mundo ocupado, perturbado, agitado y confundido.
