As we celebrate two feasts of Our Lady this week – December 9th, the Immaculate Conception (normally December 8th, but Sunday of Advent takes precedence) and December 12th, Our Lady of Guadalupe – it would be good for us to consider the words Our Lady spoke to Juan Diego when she appeared to him. They are words she would say to each one of us!
Hear and let it penetrate into your heart, my dear little son:
Let nothing discourage you, nothing depress you.
Let nothing alter your heart or your countenance.
Also do not fear any illness or vexation, anxiety or pain.
Am I not here who am your mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection?
Am I not your fountain of life? Are you not in the folds of my mantle, in the crossing of my arms?

Mientras que celebramos dos fiestas de Nuestra Señora esta semana – Inmaculada Concepción el 9 de diciembre (normalmente es el 8 pero el Segundo Domingo en Adviento tiene precedencia) y la Virgen de Guadalupe el 12 de diciembre – sería bueno que consideremos las palabras que Nuestra Señora le dijo a Juan Diego cuando se le apareció. ¡Son las palabras que ella nos diría a cada uno de nosotros!
Escucha y deja que penetre en tu corazón, mi querido hijo:
No dejes que nada te desaliente, que nada te deprima.
Que nada alter tu corazón o tu alegría.
Tampoco le temas a ninguna enfermedad o vejación, ansiedad o dolor.
¿No estoy yo aquí que soy tu madre? ¿No estás tú bajo mi sombra y protección?
¿No soy yo tu fuente de vida? ¿No estás tú en mi regazo, en donde se cruzan mis brazos?
