Health/Wellness Ministry
The Health/Wellness Ministry are fellow parishioners who have volunteered our health, medical and nursing knowledge and skills. Our mission is t o perpetuate the healing mission of the Church. Consistent with the Gospel and the spirit of the parish to serve out neighbor, we will promote physical, mental, social and spiritual health for all those seeking care.
What To Expect of Us

What We Cannot Do
- Administer medications
- Change dressings
- Give injections
- Start IVs
- Perform tasks normally performed by a home health nurse
Maintain Don’t Gain,
November 23-January 4th
Most Americans gain between three and seven pounds between Thanksgiving and the New Year..
Maintain, Don’t Gain is a six-week, self-directed program designed to help you maintain your weight during the holiday season, and avoid the cumulative effects of gradual weight gain. There is no charge for the program.
The program includes:
- A weight-tracking form for you to keep personal track of your progress
- Six weekly emails starting November 23th providing strategies for maintaining health-promoting lifestyle
- Drawing each week and small gifts for participants completing the six week program
How does it Work?
- Register your name, phone and email address. healthwellness@holytrinityparish.net or 703.743.5461.
- You will receive a welcome email (Week #1) with suggestions for stress management tools, tips for helping to control portions, physical activity suggestions, recipes, a spiritual reading and encouraging messages to increase and maintain motivation. A form for weight tracking will be attached to this email
- You record your weight each week for six weeks.
- You send a “hello; I’m here and working this program” message by Friday each week.
- Each week for six weeks you will receive one email similar to the first one.
Your name is placed in a drawing (winners notified via email; gift picked up at parish office).
