Bible Studies

"The Church forcefully and specifically exhorts all the Christian faithful...to learn the surpassing knowledge of Jesus Christ by frequent reading of the divine Scriptures.  Ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ." (Catechism of the Catholic Church, section 133).

"[The chair of Peter] also teaches that Divine inspiration extends to every part of the Bible without the slightest exception, and that no error can occur in the inspired text:  It would be wholly impious to limit inspiration to certain portions only of Scripture or to concede that the sacred authors themselves could have erred."  (The papal encyclical Spiritus Paraclitus, section 21).

  • Bible study #1: Held Friday evenings 7:30-9:00 (except 1st Fridays) at Saint Patrick's Hall at Holy Trinity Church. The current topic is the Gospel of Mark and is lead by Scott McCain. Contact Scott at mccaints@comcast.net for further details.

  • Bible study #2: Held twice a month on Sunday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. It is led by Mike and Debbie Wykowski in Manassas. The topics vary and cover both Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Contact the Wykowski's at wykowski@mindspring.com for more detail.

  • Bible study #3: Held at the home of the Witherow's and led by Greg Witherow.  The meetings are once a month, Saturday evenings from 7:30-9:00 pm. The sessions either focus on a topic or a book of the Bible. Our current series is on the book of Exodus. This is a great opportunity to better understand the Catholic faith through the eyes of Scripture. The location is 4439 Montreux Rd, Warrenton, VA 20187. You can contact the Witherow's by email (gewitherow@yahoo.com) or phone (540-341-8863). The Bible Study date for each month is posted in the bulletin. Greg and Kathy Witherow are converts to the Catholic faith.  You can read their conversion story in the December 2003 Arlington Catholic Herald.
